SPEAKER_15Philippa.
SPEAKER_05Vale. Shaw.
SPEAKER_15Ilya.
SPEAKER_05And I'm your DM, Seth.
SPEAKER_07Welcome to Venture Forth.
SPEAKER_05Gather around ye gentles, I've another tale to tell. Of woe-begotten heroes and repentant now duels. Of villains and their scheming and the fools that heed the call. Sweet melodies to ensure that they venture. For they venture dueling dragons in a dungeon. Tothing trolls till the tolls repeal. Of course, they venture. For they venture now may start to trust a notch fame when the devil's at the last week of our heroes in the tavern or a cave. They dispatched the darkness, lays her fountains, summons up to sleep. There's a mage with much ambition. There's a war can at the gate.
SPEAKER_07When last we left our heroes. As the chaotic evening here at Black Rock came to a close, the party split. Ramsay, Vale, and Shaw returned to the Red Thorn to drink and debrief, while Ilya and Philippo returned to soothe themselves, where they ended their night deep in conversation. They traded theories, suppositions, and discussed the dangers of assuming too much. But eventually, the two found their way to bed, their busy minds giving way to the exhaustion of the day. And sometime before dawn, Philippo was paid a visit by Will, who told her what the evening had cost Blackrock and those who had paid the price. You all awoke, went about your morning rituals, and met up before gathering within the small office of Takajwar at Thornwatch headquarters. It was there that he made his offer. Stretched thin by recent losses and tied up with the defense and repair of the town, the Thornwatch could not spare the bodies to make the two-day journey to Bavralda's claim. At least they couldn't spare any more. You learned of the late shipment, of interests from High Stone pertaining to it, and of the two thorns that Tackett had already sent: Senecalder, a Blackrack native and talented Thorn, and Dom Forger, brother of Thistle, friend of Ilya, and Phil. They both have yet to report back. Tackett offered 50 gold each to go to the mine. Was it 50? Or was it 30?
SPEAKER_12That's what I thought. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Tackett offered 50 gold each to go to the mine.
SPEAKER_12Actually it was a hundred. I forgot.
SPEAKER_07Guys, we could have ah Tacket offered 50 gold each to go to the mine, investigate, and bring back anyone and anything you find. You accepted, each for your own reasons, gathered yourselves, supplies, and struck out through the north gate, ready for the two-day journey to Bavaralda's claim. As you leave through the northern gate of Black Rock, you ex you walk through the extended stretch of the killing ground and into the Freywood. And the light of day abandons you in less than a hundred steps, throwing you into deep twilight that belies the vibrant sunlight you just left behind. The sounds of Black Rock fade away in the course of seconds, to be replaced by an entirely different sensory experience. Sound is muffled and close, but alive. Dripping water, the brush of leaves against each other as the wind moves the canopy over a hundred feet above your heads. Heavy, thick vines fall down from thicker branches, and moss crawls over everything, be it ground, stone, or branch. A light fog slinks through the trunks of trees as thick as houses, pooling between roots, as wide as draft horses. The smell is heavy but not rotten. Damp earth, clean water, and the smell of growing things permeates the cool spring morning air. Flowers erupt all around you in a riot of color as new growth claws out of the dark, loamy soil straining towards the canopy high above you. Ferns are thick and heavy all around, and large rocks rise out of the foliage furred with lichens and moths. The path that you are on is well worn. A wide ribbon of packed earth cutting through the undergrowth, broad enough for about two wagons abreast. For now. This is the main road north from Black Rock into the mountains, and it shows. The cart ruts have carved permanent grooves into the soil, and the ferns have learned to keep their distance from the trail's edge. The trees have been cut back to let these wagons through, though the forest, even as you watch, almost seems to already be reclaiming what it has lost. This is the place you find yourselves in. The sounds of hammers and calling voices of Blackrock behind you almost immediately fall away and are swallowed by the wood. Some of you are familiar with this feeling, some of you are not. So, as you all enter into the Frey Wood proper, outside of the safety of Black Rock, what are y'all doing?
SPEAKER_05So have any of you been to this mine before? Locals of Black Rock now.
SPEAKER_09No.
SPEAKER_08Great.
SPEAKER_09I mean I've been around it several times, but uh I don't really have to go down into the mine.
SPEAKER_05So you've walked this path. Yeah.
SPEAKER_09You seem shaver. Oh yeah, this is a great day.
SPEAKER_17We're just uh trying to her mother are used to being in the woods.
SPEAKER_09There's no monsters usually around this time, so we're pretty safe for the most part. Like the deeper you go in, that's when we just need to try to get to the outpost.
SPEAKER_17About halfway point. We can get there before nightfall. Before and I look around and see how dark it is. Before nightfall.
SPEAKER_05The passing of the day is disnimmed by the foliage, so don't uh know how to track that without being able to see the shadows moving. Temperature. That's it.
SPEAKER_17But it's not always monsters and giant bugs you have to keep an eye out for.
SPEAKER_02Safe to say just only us.
SPEAKER_17Sure, but I don't even mean people, I mean standard reptiles out here.
SPEAKER_05Sharp rocks.
SPEAKER_17Sharp rocks have had to well the sharp rocks have it, but the You have to be tough to live out here. So if you are a even a standard lizard or snake, it's maybe not your used to back out.
SPEAKER_05I'm not a standard lizard or snake.
SPEAKER_09Well the the the to Phil's point. Even the animals here are blessed. Like the history of this place. They gain specific attributes that make them more terrifying and bloodthirsty?
SPEAKER_01That's not what I usually refer to as a blessing.
SPEAKER_09I mean uh blessing to some craft to another, whatever that phrase is.
SPEAKER_17In order to survive, you have to outlive.
SPEAKER_05That's true everywhere.
SPEAKER_17Exactly.
SPEAKER_05Okay. So um avoiding the non-standard or sharp rocks.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Intention to begin with. Haste. We should make haste, no.
SPEAKER_05You know, haste without spoiling the mood. Haste makes waste, my friend.
SPEAKER_07As you guys come, uh it's not very far, you get into the uh into the wood. Um, you see up ahead of you um what looks like slight mounds of disturbed earth. Um actually they're not mounds, they're more depressions. You see like a handful of them in the road. In the road.
SPEAKER_02Alright, we should probably pause here, friends.
SPEAKER_09Have I seen these types of divots in the road before?
SPEAKER_07No, they're they're large, big, almost 10 feet across. Do they look like footprints? Um, make a perception or investigation check. Your choice. Interesting.
SPEAKER_09And I also natural 20.
SPEAKER_12Our adventure for time.
SPEAKER_17Alright. 26, holy cow. I think it's a nice.
SPEAKER_09You've also been in these woods.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. Um, also, um Phil, you'll run around last night, you saw the remnants of uh of the young kegs. Okay. And what you what you saw were you saw a couple of these from where they burrowed up out of the ground. These are the exit points of probably multiple of the bugs that attacked the burrow. Yeah, and it's like not yeah. Um, you see that the the earth is completely caved in, like there's no tunnel or anything like that. Um, but you can and then as you look from the depressions, you can see like what look like the sort of strange triangular depressions in the ground from their heavy legs as they skittered down the road toward Black Rock.
SPEAKER_11I see.
SPEAKER_07But you can see this is where it looks like a lot of them burst out of the ground kind of early and and then made their attack on the on the town.
SPEAKER_17These are these are those um creatures from last night.
SPEAKER_05These are the exit ways, pathways. Yeah. Blessed as they are to be here.
SPEAKER_03Uh I am wandering kind of off the path. I'm looking for uh a stick or uh something that staff like. Okay. Even if it's just like a trunk. Okay. Like I just I want a thing. Okay. Make a perception.
SPEAKER_08I want a thing. I want a make a perception. Investigation.
SPEAKER_09A thing. It has to be a good stick for sticknation and everything.
SPEAKER_0318.
SPEAKER_0718? Okay. Perception. Um as you as you go off the road a little bit, very quickly you see that the ferns themselves, like, they come up to your waist. Like they're they're thick. And as you move into the area that's like literally just off the road, the foliage is thick and and hard to like navigate. Um you immediately get soaked because of the the moisture that is attached to all of these, all of these, uh, these bits. But as you kind of look around, you start pulling back some of the ferns, eventually you do see what looks like a a fallen branch that is sort of like twisting and and gnarled. Um, it looks like it's uh it fell from the canopy high, high above. Um, it's probably about almost seven feet in length. Perfect. Um, it kind of it yeah, it looks like a and it has like kind of a strange like sideways notch right in the middle of it almost. As if the branch was growing and then another one grew on top of it and it had to grow like under it and keep going. So it has this kind of like it's like pretty straight, and then just has this weird, almost like triangular notch, like right in the middle of it.
SPEAKER_03Perfect. Uh uh, yeah, I'll I'll I'll grab it. And uh Ramsey!
SPEAKER_05Uh yes! Uh I look up from uh I've got like a little notebook that I'm like kind of like sc um scribbling in with charcoal. I Yes, sir?
SPEAKER_09Careful about not going on the path, Vale.
SPEAKER_05Oh no, he's quite alright.
SPEAKER_09He's resourceful.
SPEAKER_05That one.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_05He makes his own way.
SPEAKER_09Just there's like snakes and and other things, tall grass. Uh and sharp rocks, I'm told. You're very tall, but the ferns come up to your waist, which is like my midsection. Careful.
SPEAKER_03I did get wet going off, but uh here. And I'll I'll walk over and hand it to you.
SPEAKER_05And sorry, what is it?
SPEAKER_03It's it's uh a s like a seven foot stick uh branch that has like a sorry, go ahead and uh make a nature check for me.
SPEAKER_09Watch it be poisonous.
SPEAKER_03That tracks.
SPEAKER_09Can I can I see if there's like poisonous on it?
SPEAKER_03Uh that's a that's better. Yeah, that's an eight.
SPEAKER_09I'm young. I used it for the um, yeah. Wait, what what would mine be?
SPEAKER_07Would it be a survival or uh uh it'd be uh nature or I'd allow survival. Nature or survival.
SPEAKER_09Okay, they're they're the same. Uh 19.
SPEAKER_0719. Um this is the branch of an alder tree. It is uh it is a hardwood, um, one of the more popular trees that grows in this area. It is a broadleaf, um, yeah, it's a broadleaf tree. Uh, like I said, considered a hardwood, though not quite as hard as like an oak. Um uh or like a walnut. But um I think anyway, not a woodsman, but I'm pretty sure.
SPEAKER_10It's getting now.
SPEAKER_07But um yeah, it's uh it's from an alder tree. So it's kind of kind of has like a grayish bark uh contexture texture to it. Um probably if the bark and skin was removed, it would it would be like a a very pretty That's a good stick.
SPEAKER_04He he knows how to find the good sticks, this one.
SPEAKER_09That's a great stick.
SPEAKER_04Um thank you. Is this for me to walk with? No, it's for me.
SPEAKER_03Oh I just wanted to show you.
SPEAKER_05Oh, it's a it's a lovely stick.
SPEAKER_09That's a really nice wood.
SPEAKER_05I'm glad to see you've uh achieved some some levity since we've left town.
SPEAKER_09I like the woods. I've spent most of my life in them.
SPEAKER_05So you're you're in good company. Vale likes the woods. They're okay. Okay, well. I exaggerate from time to time.
SPEAKER_17We're continuing on the same.
SPEAKER_07No, I'm assuming you guys are traveling. Um one thing I think uh the three who've been in BlackRock for some time notice and Ramsey and and Vale. This is something that um maybe Ramsey more than anybody, because Vale is not Yeah. Ramsey, you've traveled and been in forests that are on mainland Elbor. Um, you've probably seen, and like as you look around, you recognize the types of trees that these are. Like you've seen them before. These are three, four, five times the size of anything else you've seen. Same like type of tree. But whereas a normal tree of this height might be, you know, 30 to 50 feet or something like that, these are 150 feet tall, massive trunks, like everything here grows bigger. The same with the ferns, um, all of the ground foliage. It's like everything here is just larger, more verdant, brighter.
SPEAKER_09It's beautiful.
SPEAKER_04Yes, it's imposing.
SPEAKER_17I'm keeping an eye out for like tracks from the um from Dom and No, from Dom and Cinna, like to like any kind of proof that they're that they might have recently walked past because they they left four days ago.
SPEAKER_07They left four days ago. Yes. Mm-hmm. Yeah. They left four days ago in the after in the late afternoon. I thought they went missing four days ago. Both.
SPEAKER_17No, they left four days ago. They wouldn't have been missing until like two days ago.
SPEAKER_07They left four days ago and they were supposed to be heard from late on the next day.
SPEAKER_03The caravan was due four days. They went out on the day that it was due. Yes, correct. Correct. Which was what, four days ago? Yeah, four days ago.
SPEAKER_07So the caravan was supposed to arrive like pretty much like mid-morning-ish. Didn't come in. There'd been no word. They're wait, they waited a few hours, and when it didn't arrive, Tacket sent them out that late afternoon. Um, Dom and Senna being part of the Thornwatch, they effectively travel at twice the speed of a normal person, like they could travel twice as fast as you guys can. Um, because they're yeah, they're Thornwatch. Um so um they probably would have made it to the Way House in that amount of time, like that evening, and then traveled the rest of the way. Um and so they were ex-Tackett was expecting to hear from them um pretty soon.
SPEAKER_17To at least say that they yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Um, I think I had mentioned this, but the way a lot of the way that the Thornwatch communicates is through um Animal Messenger. Like they'll find uh a bird and they'll send it off, and that's how they kind of communicate with one another. Um and he would have expected to get progress reports from them, and he never got them.
SPEAKER_17Okay, so yeah, so I'm just trying to keep my eye out to see like have they like is there any proof that there's been people through here?
SPEAKER_07Um yeah, feel free. Make a survival check for me as you're looking on the uh on the ground for tracks.
unknownYou've got this.
SPEAKER_09Not for crit!
SPEAKER_12That's VF Dice. That's VF Dice.
SPEAKER_03Hey, I like that VF. I'm gonna use mine.
SPEAKER_12Okay, use mine.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna use mine too. I'm gonna give me one though. Does he have one?
SPEAKER_17Yeah. Hand that back the top. That's a fourth dice.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_17That's a 21.
SPEAKER_0721, okay. Um man, as you yeah, as you look four days. Um you look and you're very confident that you would see them if they were there, but there are no there are no tracks. Um, the things that you notice though are um, yeah, I mean, you notice the the wagon ruts and that type of thing, but as you look by, uh any evidence of anybody having passed through here um on this hard-packed road would have would have probably been washed away by now.
SPEAKER_17Okay, but I at least know that the caravan. Like I would probably have seen the caravan mark, so I know the caravan hasn't come back to the street. Oh yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, you that would have been like a lot of feet and you know, wagon ruts and stuff like that. Probably like, you know, as as bad as people are, like, or not bad, but you know, um, food leavings and stuff like that might have been around. But you don't see anything like that.
SPEAKER_17Okay. So yeah, we'll just I'll try to, I I'll try to like I I know that um they all had the map and we were looking at it together to try and like, I want to try and get us to the way to the the to the halfway point to the way point as quickly as quickly and as safely as possible.
SPEAKER_10Okay, cool.
SPEAKER_09Um, in terms of monsters and animals, would I have a pretty good sense of like the most dangerous times of the day? Uh yeah. All the times? Yes. All the times. Yeah.
SPEAKER_12Now you mean at all times?
SPEAKER_07Now danger danger. Yeah, there are, I mean, there are different animals that um that exist within the Freywood. There are beasts, there are monstrosities. Um they all uh follow different routines, different habits. Okay.
SPEAKER_09Um would I know like which which ones then we should be prepared for for mid-afternoon?
SPEAKER_07Um this time of day, um a lot of yeah, I mean there's there's a few predators that lurk through the forest this time of day. Um yeah, they they hunt kind of in the either the early mornings or typically the late afternoons.
SPEAKER_09Um like midday we're a bit safer.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_09But we should still be midday.
SPEAKER_07You know, for like two to three hours during the middle of the day because anything nocturnal is asleep and has definitely gone down. Um and animals tend to be the most active in like the early morning hours or the late afternoon evening hours.
SPEAKER_09So I'm in those and kegs or kegs, yeah. Or uh nocturnal and kids.
SPEAKER_07Those are no, those well, those are subterranean, so they follow a different and interesting pattern.
SPEAKER_09So things under the ground could be again to do whatever they want. Got it. I mean, they're like they live by their own rooms. Because if if these huge animals came out of the ground, then regular an in my mind, regular animals then would have probably like, oh no, there's like a predator, big monza, I'm gonna run away. And that happened last night. So today I'm thinking we're probably a Little more safe on the road. Right, Gian?
SPEAKER_00That's what he said. Yeah. You can think that.
SPEAKER_02Um, I think for me, uh for Shaw, I would or for me, I would just kind of be in the back. Uh a little bit farther back. Ever since we kind of got in and we lost track of like we were in a corner, we're kind of in the deep of this. I'm kind of more You just fall back and I'm falling back and kind of keeping an eye on things. Because I see them with the map, they're taking care of that, they're chatting. I'm just gonna kind of keep an eye out for threats. Okay, I've been out here a few times and I know that this can get dangerous. So I'm kind of more turned on, like switched on. Okay. Where it's like I should keep an eye out.
SPEAKER_11Okay.
SPEAKER_07Turned on. Um But the I mean to there's a couple of things that you're familiar with. I mean, you're familiar with on kings. They're um they're ambush predators. They use um, they utilize the the sensitive antenna on their head and other receptors in their shell to wait, lie in wait under the ground, and then once something disturbs the ground above them, they burst out and grab a hold of whatever it is that's moving.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Um there are, yeah, there are any number of of uh of beasts and creatures. There are um bears of of a lot of different varieties. Um one that's very uh there are a few animals that are more dangerous or that are more um prone to to uh hyperaggression even more so than like the others. Um make a nature check for me.
SPEAKER_09Yay! Oh man.
SPEAKER_07I'll say with advantage because of your past.
SPEAKER_09Oh, that was okay. Well, thank God. Yeah, it was uh uh nature.
SPEAKER_08Oh yeah?
SPEAKER_09Um 16.
SPEAKER_0816. Rhythm.
SPEAKER_07Um, switch dice.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_07One of the things that's very interesting about the Freywood too is that like there are certain animals here, for instance, that like may not even be like wouldn't typically be found in this habitat. Um but because of its nature and because of like how much life there is here, um, there are varieties of giant snakes um that are uh hyperaggressive and um will chase people down even. Um they'll go out of their way to to to find prey. Um there's one particular animal they're they're assholes, guys. Yeah there's there's one particular or uh another animal that you've heard of um that is a uh they're called a savager.
SPEAKER_10Oh really?
SPEAKER_07They are a very friendly and incredibly territorial, hyperaggressive, um, like monstrous bear. Um and um yeah, hyper-aggressive, hyper territorial. Um there are actually multiple varieties of outbears uh here in the framework. Um and there are also um yeah, there's packs of displacer beasts that wander. Packs of displacer beasts. Is that what you said?
SPEAKER_09Like I see like um Sean the back watching, I'm like, oh well, like you should watch out for the giant snakes that fucking hate people, and like savager monsters packs of uh what were they uh uh savager? Displacer beasts, yeah, yeah, displacer beasts.
SPEAKER_07Um you also are familiar, I mean there's uh any variety of giant bugs. There are um uh like murder wasps that are the size of like seagulls.
SPEAKER_16Um that's murder wasps.
SPEAKER_17Remember when they come into California?
SPEAKER_07That are that are I mean, actually even larger, probably. Like they're the size of like a large pred bird of prey.
SPEAKER_12Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Um there's also yeah, there's any variety of giant insects, giant wasps, giant slugs, giant ants. Crazy. Um yeah. Yeah, there's a lot.
SPEAKER_05Normal size ants.
SPEAKER_07Uh there's also there's also um uh uh plants that are um that are uh carnivorous. Is this is this dirt is the dirt.
SPEAKER_03Is the dirt deadly?
SPEAKER_00Um the shark rock.
SPEAKER_05We were they'll kill you.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05That's what we need.
SPEAKER_07Um there's also uh there's also fey creatures that uh inhabit the uh the Freewid. There are pixies and sprites.
SPEAKER_02There are We should have asked for more money.
SPEAKER_07Uh there are yeah, a variety of fee that are um that are pretty hostile. Yeah, yeah. There are also uh tribes of of humanoids. There's a lot of folk. There's a lot. Everything out here wants to kill you.
SPEAKER_09We should have asked for more money. Yeah. Um hey, hey, Shaw.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_09Just be aware of like a buzzing noise if you happen to hear it. That's the murder wasps. Yeah, yeah. Large, large eagles. Um, yeah. And um, if you see a a pretty plant, don't go near it. It might eat you. Um, there's also, you know, packs of displacer beasts that are just roaming right off of the road. So be careful. You can't really see them because of the tall ferns. They just pop out of nowhere.
SPEAKER_17And it's kind of the thing to be camouflage.
SPEAKER_05I didn't even know displacer beasts came in packs.
SPEAKER_17They're very um things are I suppose they look like twice as many of as they are.
SPEAKER_02Ramsey, if you haven't figured this yet, things are a bit different here.
SPEAKER_05Uh yeah, so I'm no stranger to the fray wood, but um, you know, I tend to favor more civilized areas.
SPEAKER_03So might understand this place is deadly.
SPEAKER_05Murder wasps might be an indicator.
SPEAKER_09Like that, a normal wasp. Yay, big. There are just murder wasps.
SPEAKER_17As I said, I don't really like snakes, and uh there are very, very large ones that will chase you. Like you have some snakes that is like, oh well, you know, don't bother me and I won't bother you. These ones really like to bother you.
SPEAKER_09It's like you stole their favorite uh thing or toy years ago, and they're holding a grudge, and they purposely go out of their way to eat you.
SPEAKER_01Ramsay, I left gold when I took the toy. This place is great.
SPEAKER_03And it would be a fantastic place for you to work on emptying your mind. Um, it's a good thing.
SPEAKER_17I would actually say do not empty your mind while you're here, because you should probably No, no, he means it's a sort of fair quiet thing.
SPEAKER_05He does, yes. But uh clear your mind. Yeah, it's more accurate. Clear.
SPEAKER_17Okay, I really love us talking about all this, but I have the feeling that you don't actually love. You're right, I don't, because I would like to not call attention to us in the in the what else do you wish us to do to pass the time while we're gonna do it? Tweedle your fucking thumbs.
SPEAKER_05I'm I can walk. Keep an eye out for them rocks.
SPEAKER_15Actually, there are yeah.
SPEAKER_02I can walk and talk.
SPEAKER_17I I'm aware you can.
SPEAKER_02I mean, prefer you don't.
SPEAKER_17I didn't say that. I said be quiet.
SPEAKER_02I said that.
SPEAKER_17It's not a preference that I have, it's a preference that I think we should all hide.
SPEAKER_02Mainly so we survive on the way to the house.
SPEAKER_09Once it's the middle of the day, we're generally safe, but I don't know what spurred those Nkegs to attack so viciously, like the fact that they even got to Black Rock as deep as they have.
SPEAKER_02Even Takett seemed to think that was uh anomalous. Right. It's never happened at the bar before. It's always been out the wall.
SPEAKER_09Exactly. So whatever riled them up might be also riling up all the other animals here.
SPEAKER_03What does the environment around us sound like right now? Like, is it teeming with noise? Like, is there a lot of noise, ambient noise, or is it seagulls?
SPEAKER_07No, there's a there's a good amount of ambient noise.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_07You can hear like water dripping, you hear the like high above you, the canopy, you can feel you hear like the leaves like brushing up against one another. There's kind of a constant white noise. Um, you do hear the, you know, uh, you hear insects and frogs and um any number of you know, crickets and creatures and things like that. There's a a sort of constant uh yeah, there's a constant din of of life around you. Um as you guys walk, occasionally you hear something in the distance. Cry, cut short. Um something who uh yeah.
SPEAKER_02Human or like animalistic? Animal.
SPEAKER_17I'm holding my gun.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_17And I'm just like, my head is like head on a swivel.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's what I'm gonna do at the point.
SPEAKER_07What are your guys' passive perceptions?
SPEAKER_02Passive? Probably not the greatest. We're really low low, if I'm doing it or passive perception?
SPEAKER_1711.
SPEAKER_02Okay. I'm finding it. I'm finding it. 15. 15.
SPEAKER_17But I did roll a 26 investigation. You did?
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, you did.
SPEAKER_05You did.
SPEAKER_02You did.
SPEAKER_0513 for me. 13? Oh, 10. 10. 17. But I'm feigning that I'm not paying attention. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I'm also I'm not feigning it. I often am not paying attention. Yeah. I'm distracted by the environment. Okay.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_03In a good way. In a good way. I think.
SPEAKER_07Would one of you roll a percentile die for me, please?
SPEAKER_09Oh boy, not me.
SPEAKER_05Can I do it?
SPEAKER_07Can I do it? You should do it.
SPEAKER_09Cat should do it. Yeah, yeah. Let's do it.
SPEAKER_05I want to do it. Do it.
SPEAKER_09How are you gonna use the little the little?
SPEAKER_05Okay, so one hondo. Yeah.
SPEAKER_17Which might be a zero.
SPEAKER_05Which might be a zero. Uh once you never roll next.
SPEAKER_17You can't go over a hundred.
SPEAKER_03Maybe the you roll the zero or the. Where the hell is my one? Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Two. Two. So two. Two. Two.
SPEAKER_09Or two hundred, depending on where zeros go. What's a two?
SPEAKER_17That feels high and low. Two is low. Extreme sleep.
SPEAKER_16Extreme feel very dangerous.
SPEAKER_03Under five should be a reward.
SPEAKER_16That's so hard to do.
SPEAKER_03Our extra money that we should have asked for all of you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I don't like that.
unknownWhat is that?
SPEAKER_05It's never good when he says okay.
SPEAKER_17Seth, like, statistically, never like numbers mean nothing. Except it's just okay. You can't ever, you can't trust.
SPEAKER_07I move, it's it I move it because then you're like, oh, if I low roll, it's good. So it's it's a window. I see. You never know the truth.
SPEAKER_06So yeah, because that way you never can guess what it is. I mean he doesn't. Yes, exactly. There is no predicting it, I promise.
SPEAKER_07Um as the conversation, well, maybe slows down or continues, you begin to make your way deeper into the wood. As you travel, is there anything anybody's doing besides keeping an eye out, being very careful? Obviously, I heard keeping an eye out. You got your gun ready to go.
SPEAKER_03You're uh map stick. I'm it I'm using it as a walking stick. So kind of poking at the ground in the side bush and see if there's any of those.
SPEAKER_09I'm watching mail. I'm just I'm just curious. And like this is entertaining for me.
SPEAKER_03But but every I I don't I don't know, every couple of minutes I I get lost in the canopy uh uh sounds or or or flutterings uh grab my attention.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Yeah, you just every now and again get brought in.
SPEAKER_03Otherwise, super focused. Like I'm tall, I'm looking out, you know, for but yeah.
SPEAKER_05Okay. I just have a a like a ratty little notebook that every 70 paces or so I take out and I'm like just writing in and and like biting under the charcoal and and then putting it away and cool. Walking.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_08Um you walk.
SPEAKER_09Oh. I think you did a good job rolling.
SPEAKER_07A couple of hours pass.
SPEAKER_17Okay.
SPEAKER_07And a couple of more hours pass.
SPEAKER_12Okay.
SPEAKER_07Okay.
SPEAKER_12We all hours pass.
SPEAKER_02Wait, how long until we get to the the half point? I think I think we're gonna go straight there. Around the eight-hour mark.
SPEAKER_06Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_05I got I thought it's eight hours. Okay.
SPEAKER_07The light begins to fade from the sky. The temperature starts to drop. You come around a bend in the road, and you see off the side of the road, down a narrow pathway, the way house. Like a small palisade wall enclosed. It's about 10 feet tall. You can see a watchtower around 20 feet tall down in the what would be kind of the the closest but farthest corner to you guys. It's kind of like you guys are looking at the bottom corner of a square. So in the in the furthest corner to you guys is a watchtower that rises. There is no smoke, there is no light. It is simply the palisade surrounding the way house. And as you guys move throughout the forest, nothing appears to bother you. But you arrive at the Way House.
SPEAKER_02Um how far out? How far out until we're there?
SPEAKER_07Probably like a hundred yards, something like that.
SPEAKER_09Did Tackett like tell us if there was a way to like specifically open the door and like a he said that there's uh it's it's locked.
SPEAKER_07Um there's like a big padlock with uh a series of chains that lock up the front door. Um he explained to you that there is a copse of rocks that's like about 10 yards away off the path. Um, and the key to the padlock is typically hidden and under one of those rocks. It's very like kind of a communal, like this place is very much a yeah, it is maintained by the Thornwatch and the city um to provide shelter for the caravans and the loggers and things like that that are coming in from the from the forest.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so like Thornwatch, loggers, miners, that they all kind of know where it is.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, this is something it's a known thing.
SPEAKER_02And is it is it big enough for like if there's someone here, we can share it with them, or is it kind of like we're gonna have to move on?
SPEAKER_07Like, how no, yeah. You um so you've probably been here before. I think all the people at Black Rock, all the locals of Black Rock have probably seen it or at least know about it. Um there are three bunkhouses um that are inside of here. They're small squat, very plain buildings. Inside of each bunkhouse is around six bunks. Um, so it's enough for a uh a sortie of people to um to crash for the night. Um there are there's also like a small um it's roofed but with you know open siding, um, a small stable for you know beasts of burden and pack animals, um, that kind of thing.
SPEAKER_02Um so have we probably used this before?
SPEAKER_07Maybe once or twice? You definitely have.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_07You probably have. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Alright. Well. I don't see what all the fuss was about. This is a perfectly peaceful walk. So you're here with us.
SPEAKER_09I think the animals were probably scared from last night slash this morning's commotion.
SPEAKER_05The imposing form of surveil. You know, you are imposing. Yes.
SPEAKER_02Right, what's your call again?
SPEAKER_05Uh of the Gith Gear. Although I'm thinking about I have a couple of other ideas I wanted to run by you. You know. Um I was thinking uh the veil. Do you have opinions on that?
SPEAKER_09Oh, like a veil.
SPEAKER_05Yes, like a veil. Like um the chasm between things. Something um, well, imposing to have to cross. You know, don't cross veil. Don't cross the veil. I like that, yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Good, good, good, good.
SPEAKER_05Take out my wrong.
SPEAKER_03But then where does Sir go?
SPEAKER_05Well, we might have to do well, it it's um, you know, uh the the more famous you are, the more names you can have. So surveil. The the only problem with surveil is it kind of sounds like spying, like surveil, you know. I surveiled surveil as he surveyed.
SPEAKER_14You do realize that. Oh, it's the veil, not a veil.
SPEAKER_05Okay, so yes, of course. And that it better because it rhymes with a veil.
SPEAKER_02So when he pulls his notebook out, can I try and take a peek and to see what's on it? Uh I don't know if I if I'll just kind of lean in to see what you're writing.
SPEAKER_05I I it's literally, it's like words. You see, you see, insectoids to avoid, lest you be quite annoyed. And then like a bunch of question marks of like other like void toys. Like just like.
SPEAKER_02So you're like writing trying to write a song.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, literally just like and you see what I figured it would be. The pages are they're just like destroyed with text that's been scratched out. Yeah, yeah, just lots of shit like that. Just k chicken scratch.
SPEAKER_09I'm gonna go to the rocks where I know the keyboard. I hear that shop. Um These ones are, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. As you uh as you approach uh the Wayhouse itself, you go over to the rocks and you look up um and you notice that the front doors, uh, the padlock is not there and the chains are off.
SPEAKER_00Bill. Yes.
SPEAKER_07The gate just very slightly ajar.
SPEAKER_09Lovely. Um I pull out my dagger. Okay. Or a dagger. I'll keep one arm.
SPEAKER_02Uh uh. I'll step over to you and I'll kind of like put my hand on your on your shoulder. I'll just kind of push you to the side and I'll unsheathe my dagger.
SPEAKER_17And before we do that, I would like to look under the rock to see if the key is still there or not. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Still there?
SPEAKER_09Oh no.
SPEAKER_02Let me take a look. What's wrong?
SPEAKER_09It seems like someone opened the gate without the key. Can we see from like at this distance if the chains were broken or if they're still? Or are they still like hanging around somewhere?
SPEAKER_07They're intact. Yeah, you look. Yeah, you can see they're they're still intact.
SPEAKER_09They're like hanging, like someone has opened, like there was a second key.
SPEAKER_07I mean, the pad box's still there. It's just open, just sitting on the chain.
SPEAKER_02There's no bending metal, there's no one unlocked the lock. Does the thorn watch carry keys as well, or is it just the one?
SPEAKER_09It's just the one Tacket would have told us if there was a second. I've never known.
SPEAKER_02So did someone just leave in a hurry? Or didn't lock up after they left?
SPEAKER_09Or they got attacked right as they left.
SPEAKER_02They opened maybe.
SPEAKER_17Or someone's in the scuffles.
SPEAKER_05Um like holes, any other burrowing holes or anything like that.
SPEAKER_07Everybody make a perception or investigation show.
SPEAKER_09I'm gonna use my dollars.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna, as we're uh Oh, oh, I thought that was better than I thought. You suck.
SPEAKER_17Well, I thought it was 23 investigation. 23 investigations. You should do all of my 12.
SPEAKER_0212, skills, uh you said what? Uh investigation? Or perception? War perception? Okay, cool.
SPEAKER_04Oh, bless you.
SPEAKER_07That's pretty good.
SPEAKER_02You're all right. Perception is 18. 18?
SPEAKER_0714. 14. 13. 18. Okay. So 14? 14?
SPEAKER_0218.
SPEAKER_0718, 18, 23. Okay. She rolled really well. God damn.
SPEAKER_17Um I didn't crit. Was it with the Vienna? No, I just got a 17.
SPEAKER_07Phil. Um C. You as you go over and you're looking at you're looking at the uh the where are you looking exactly?
SPEAKER_17Um, just like the ground out front of the gate.
SPEAKER_07Of like foot. You would see two sets of what look like very shallow like grooves.
SPEAKER_17Like like dragging.
SPEAKER_07About this far apart. With that roll, it looks like heels that were dragged that made ruts, like boots or something. And they go off the path into the woods. You don't see a lot, but you do notice that like not too far, right before the like the little kind of like cleared out area from vegetation. Um you see that there is a rock that is like kind of underneath one of the ferns. Um and because of the overhang of that fern, you see that there is what looks like a splotch of of red on on a rock that's like that leads into the yeah, it leads into the woods.
SPEAKER_13Look you see. These marks and that looks like blood right there. They didn't make it into the as they were leaving?
SPEAKER_04Yes, because they didn't the key was where it was supposed to be, right?
SPEAKER_09But it would have been locked if the key was back.
SPEAKER_02If they're walking out, they didn't have time to put the latch on. So they left, and as soon as they stepped outside to continue on their journey, they were taken.
SPEAKER_09But if they had uh made it here, wouldn't they have sent him a bird?
SPEAKER_02This could be someone else.
SPEAKER_05If I if I look down, if I like follow the trail, does it look like the brush has been disturbed by something big? Or is there any indication of like what kind of creature it might have been?
SPEAKER_02I also have something as well. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Do you approach over to that area? Do you kind of get a little closer? Okay. Um as you go over and you start looking around, you can identify, like as you look, you're like, okay, like broken branch, right? Like a fern leaf that was like snapped off and now hangs limp. Um you do see what looks like a sort of path that goes out into the woods. And as you get a little bit closer to this edge, 18 is very good. On like the wind kind of shifts quickly, and you smell um smell like copper and rot.
SPEAKER_02I want to go up to the blood that she pointed out. Is it fresh? I want to look at is it dried, is it fresh, and I want to sense if I can, how recent is it? I rolled an 18, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Um it is uh it's it's the color, it's been oxidized. So it's not bright, right? Um, it looks uh a little older. Um, did you roll an 18?
SPEAKER_0218, yeah. If I could pin an average or something.
SPEAKER_07Today, yesterday, not today. Not today. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Older than a day.
SPEAKER_17But it would have been four days three days ago, four days ago that they got taken.
SPEAKER_02Does it look like it's been here for that long? Or can I tell? Hard to tell. It's dry. It's dry.
SPEAKER_07It's fully dry.
SPEAKER_17This wasn't reason what that had happened when they arrived or when they were leaving, it came out of the rock.
SPEAKER_02And this could be theirs. It's it's it's dried up, it's not fresh.
SPEAKER_09Do we want to check the smell or do we want to check inside first?
SPEAKER_04I mean, this is clearly the path that it was taken.
SPEAKER_02Should we lock up first before we leave the front? I'll go over to the door and I'll um before I lock it up, I'll take a peek and I'll I'll I'm gonna take a quick peek inside. I won't go in though. I'll just wait, how the chains aren't there?
SPEAKER_11Yeah, they are there.
SPEAKER_07So basically there's a big palisade gate, right? It's 10 feet tall. There's two large handles, and normally the chains are looped through their handles. And there's like there's what looks like eyes or eyelets, I believe is what they're called, that are like hammered in to the sides of the palisade. Um, and the chains are just hanging limply from those. Yeah, like normally they span the gate and then are wrapped up, and right now they're just hanging.
SPEAKER_02Um you said it's a jar a little bit. I'll just I'll just kind of I won't move the door, but I'll just like do one of these and get like a the pie chart kind of thing. Like just move it around, see inside, see if I can see anything.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Um I'm gonna I'm gonna keep your perception check from earlier. Um you as you look around, um, you look over and you can see there's three bunk the three bunk houses. You see the watchtower, you see the little sort of you know, mess hall where people there's um you know uh cookware and things like that in there for people to make meals, a root cellar with some basic provisions.
SPEAKER_02I'm seeing this through the through the crowd.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, you're kind of well, you're just seeing these buildings that you're familiar with. But as you look over, you kind of scan through the bunkhouses, and you can see that on the one that is furthest in and closest, you see what looks like on the on the sort of front porch area, which is covered, um you see what looks like a a congealed uh puddle of some kind.
SPEAKER_02And it's just like inside this door inside as well.
SPEAKER_04And especially if we want to stay here for the night.
SPEAKER_09Exactly.
SPEAKER_02It'll be easier to clean this through than to stay outside.
SPEAKER_09But we should check it out still. If we lock it up in the meantime, whatever's inside, if there is something inside, won't use this opening against us when our backs are turned. I'd feel more comfortable if we locked it up.
SPEAKER_02Alright with that. Oh, and grab the chains. Uh I'll try as quietly as possible to like maybe not as perfectly, but at least get the lock on and lock it so there's at least some kind of like if something tries to come through, we'll hear it.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_10I'll just lock it up.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. You're able to uh I mean, yeah, it's it's hard to do their very heavy chains, they're very clankety and loud. But you you do a pretty good job of it.
SPEAKER_02But I'll keep an ear to hear if I'm startling anything.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, as you you lock it up, you feel you hear the creak of the chains, you keep kind of peeking in there to see, and you hear nothing and see nothing. You hear the lock snap into place, and you all turn towards the forest. We're gonna go break right there. Woo! We'll be back in just a moment, folks. See you there, nerds. See you there.

SPEAKER_07A lock clicks into place. You all turn your way towards the forest.
SPEAKER_17We leave the key.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was already under the rock, right?
SPEAKER_07So just leave it, leave it under the rock, yeah.
SPEAKER_17No one person has the key. Okay.
SPEAKER_07Excellent. You guys leave the key under the rock. And um what do you guys do as you move towards the forest?
SPEAKER_17Um I'm gonna lead us into the my gun is out. I'm gonna lead us into to following kind of a path and the blood.
SPEAKER_03Okay. I'll fold the map and kind of stick it in my uh top piece of clothing, whatever that's called. Tunic, maybe. Yeah. And uh as I take off behind Phil, I will take the Alder Staff and um I've been I've been hitting it on the ground, but this time when I hit it, um veins of fire alight down it. And I cash-lay. And that it's a very, very it's a pretty quick thing. Like you you all would see it. Uh, and then they go away and it's back to just the Okay. And and so like this has to be re-upped every once in a while. So approximately every minute or so, like as much as I can, I'm gonna do it again. Okay. And um you'll see like the second time I do it, um, veins of water instead of flame. Um and no sticks can do that.
SPEAKER_02All right. Um I'm gonna do rogue things. It's a really good step. Okay. I'm gonna I'm gonna kind of go to the side a little bit instead. Okay.
SPEAKER_07Um, so Philippa, you are leading the group. Shaw, you're gonna break off the ground.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna break off and kind of like kinda like blank out a little bit.
SPEAKER_07Okay, sounds good. Um code and roll stealth check for me.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_07And Phil, you kind of lead everybody through. Uh between you and Ramsey both, you guys were able to track the path of broken branches. And now that you're in it, you can see um most of the blood has been washed away. The the bit that was on that rock was literally just because it was protected by that fern overhanging it. Um, but you do see occasionally underneath the ferns as you're looking around.
SPEAKER_17Is it getting smellier as we go?
SPEAKER_07This is as you guys get close. Uh after once you get about about another 150 feet or so into the woods, the rest of you guys can smell that.
SPEAKER_09Pulling up my cowl that's along my cloak and just covering.
SPEAKER_02We're all to nine. Nine. I'm just hoping that I'm quieter than that.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02Nine totals. Yeah, nine totals. They're not making, they're not trying to be salty. I am, I don't know.
SPEAKER_16We're all trying to be not like we don't want to be no cautious. Cautious. Cautious, okay.
SPEAKER_05I have I have like I have my arm just like girding my loot. She has her gun drawn, I'm just like useless.
SPEAKER_03Okay. I'll produce my hand and have one of the moats of light.
SPEAKER_12Should I um I kind of gestured to wait on that?
SPEAKER_03What if we fall?
SPEAKER_05I don't I can't remember.
SPEAKER_07You all make your way a little deeper into the woods. You all smell it now.
SPEAKER_17Well does it smell like human remains? I feel like I'm fairly used to that.
SPEAKER_07It smell it smells like rotting, yeah, like a like a corpse. A corpse. Yeah, it smells like a corpse. Um and you kind of break into this small little clearing and it's down just a very slight uh depression. Um and you can see that there are uh as you guys get get through the woods, you can actually see there's kind of this little this little uh path almost that like winds across the woods here. Um it's not defined, there's no wagon ruts. It looks almost like it's well, you guys would recognize uh like a game trail. Um it's pretty wide, um, probably like eight feet or something like that from edge to edge. It just looks like animals regularly go through this area. Um you see that there are there's uh towering trees all around you sort of down this depression. You can see that there are a number of fallen trees as well that are, you know, just again, like massive long logs that are laid down in the ground. Um and you see that down in this depression, you can see that there are flowers everywhere. There are these like beautiful, bright purple flowers. And Ramsey, I think you're the first to see it based on your passive perception, but you can see that like almost propped up and like dumped against uh the roots of one of the fallen trees that has fallen away from you. You see a body that is just like leaning against the trunk. Um you see it shortly thereafter.
SPEAKER_05Like, hold up my hand. Can I make out like how kind of clothes they're wearing?
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Um shortly thereafter you see a second body. This one's actually harder to see, not because it's further away, but because it's closer. And you can just make out like the top of a head. It's also up against another set of roots that is on a tree that has fallen. Like it looks like almost two trees fell opposite directions, like on either side of this game trail. One is propped up against the close tree, one against the far. Um, you see that both of these individuals uh from your current vantage point are wearing um greens and browns. They are wearing um uh they don't have cloaks. Um no, I'm sorry, they would have cloaks. They have cloaks. They are um armed, uh, or at least they were. You see empty scabbards. Um you see both of them have what looks like a uh short sword scabbard um in one side that is empty, uh, as well as what a place where a large hunting knife or something like that would go that also looks empty. Um and you see uh there's pools of of blood underneath both of the body as you do. You recognize them it is not done. By by your look, yes, very much dead. Um there it takes you a moment to ascertain the identity of these two individuals um because their bodies are partially bloated and rotten. Um you don't remember their names immediately, but you do know that they are both uh not uh miners specifically. Um they're couriers. They carry messages back and forth, sometimes between the mines and uh ensure communication is, you know, comes in and out of BlackRock. Um there's a couple of people in town that do this job. It pays really well because it's very risky. Um they usually do go in pairs. So there are people who like come back and forth between the mining camps, the logging camps, and all the various places outside. Um they're quick on their feet. They typically run the whole way. Um but uh you've seen both of these, these um one male, one female.
SPEAKER_09And Thornwatch wouldn't use a quarrier, they would use a raven. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Sometimes the mines and the logging camps will pitch the thornwatch a couple extra coins to make use of that if they're around. But by and large, it has this area has to rely on um, it has to rely on just like overland communication.
SPEAKER_17I might not know this, but I want to ask the question. Would I do I ra I recognize that as being a little bit more? Have I seen them from town recently? Do I think that they left from town to the mine? From the mine to the town.
SPEAKER_07That's a good question.
SPEAKER_09Um if they have letters on them, we might be able to know if they were currying to you or currying.
SPEAKER_17Is it worth checking to see if they have letters on them if I know that they were coming from town? That's what I want to say. Like I would think it's worth it if we if I don't think they're coming from town, but this is interesting.
SPEAKER_07You know if they were coming from town. I'm gonna say that Phil would probably know that they were out on their rotation. They weren't they did not come from town. They left. These two are um yeah, they they work um between the mine sides, but they were they were out. They weren't they weren't um sent out from town recently.
SPEAKER_17Yeah, I'm gonna turn Eliot.
SPEAKER_09And do I recognize like the plant life and making sure that it's not poisonous or any monster plants that uh little yeah, I mostly I want you guys to like south your way over it.
SPEAKER_17How natural plants?
SPEAKER_00Nice. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02What is it?
SPEAKER_16So it's a right leg. No, that's gonna confuse us. That's gonna confuse us.
SPEAKER_02We have to do it the same.
SPEAKER_16How far are we from the bodies? About 74?
SPEAKER_06Probably 60 feet or so, yeah. 50, 60 feet.
SPEAKER_16And then what was I rolling for? I forgot.
SPEAKER_07Um I don't know. Nature check. Um to see what the um 20 poo. Yeah, as you look, you can see that this is a variety of of purple spring flower. Um they're not um they typically tend to grow in places where nutrition is abundant. You gather that maybe the fallen trees in this area is what has given rise to these flowers. Um yeah, as far as you know, there's no medicinal qualities or anything to them. You've seen them before. They're um they vary in size, they and they range in color from like a sort of like a blue violet to like a very bright purple violet. Um, and they're just kind of like all in this this area.
SPEAKER_17But yeah, they um I I I I I've asked Shaw if he would so Yeah, you'll see like from the side of a tree, like 10 or 20 feet away, just see me pop out and kind of like um and I will at before before you start walking out, I will then also turn to Ramsay and Vale. Be prepared for something to potentially come out when they enter the space.
SPEAKER_04So And then we'll run. Yes?
SPEAKER_17No, we are a backup. We are keeping an eye out for them while they're doing something.
SPEAKER_12Of course.
SPEAKER_17And so I will like as I say this, I'm pulling my weapon like and I'm aiming it, and I'm looking for any kind of movement that is going to that is like getting that is awoken or prompted by them entering any kind of space.
SPEAKER_05Are there are there flowers close to us? Yeah. 15 feet away. I'm just gonna pluck someone that are. Yeah. I put one in my head. They're beautiful. And they range.
SPEAKER_07Some of them are some of them are this big, others are like big, giant. They like they range again. There's a weird uh to use a word that uh Shane taught me, fecundity. Uh to um there is a very uh a very strange fecundity to the Freywood, like this idea of like things varying in size and growing far larger than they should. Um didn't teach me that word. What?
SPEAKER_05Uh fertile. It's like fertile.
SPEAKER_16I usually think of it for like mothers, like women are fecund.
SPEAKER_07Oh, I didn't know that.
SPEAKER_16But I think when they are like ovulate.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it but it it yeah, it just means like fertile, like very, very super fertile. Yeah, got it. Um but I think Shane used it in reference to the waste, uh, which has a very bizarre, a similar, very different environments, but similar strangeness about it. Uh a magically fueled uh essence, as it were. Um, but yeah, you're able to pick some of the flowers relatively.
SPEAKER_09I'm gonna go to look at the body.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, sneak up. Are you walking with um I'll probably approach not side by side. I'll probably go, I'll kind of kind of stay a little bit away.
SPEAKER_03So I I'm gonna walk with like side by side.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_17Oh, you're going with them?
SPEAKER_03Um, and then when we get about 25-ish feet away, if you want, I can search without touching. And I will uh push my hand forward, and as I do a spectral version of my hand comes forward, and as it moves forward, it goes invisible and I will I'm gonna send it to the nearest body and start um Okay.
SPEAKER_07Go ahead and make an investigation check for me with your uh with with your hand. Depending on how well that does, I will still go up if it doesn't do well. Twelve. Twelve. Um where I mean, are you just doing a very thorough search of the of of the body?
SPEAKER_03Uh no, it's not thorough. No, no, no. I'm I'm uh like the the the scabbards or the swords that are there, I'll move them. Um pockets, I'll try and turn them out. Yeah. Um yeah, it's not thorough though. Or do all of these. Yeah, you turn out the pocket.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, you turn up the pocket, you turn out the pockets, you lift up the scabbards. Um the scabbards hang empty. Um as you kind of like pull back the shirt and things like that, and like open up some of the cloak, like you don't see there's nothing obvious that is on their person.
SPEAKER_09I'm gonna get closer then and see uh and investigate by hand, but as I'm going closer, I want to look for like a a messenger bag that might have dropped near their body and stuff and still manually Okay.
SPEAKER_02Well, the I I guess I don't know what was happening, but I saw like shirts being lifted and pockets being turned. Um I would like to look at the body of this thing and see if it's reacting at all when the shirt's being pulled or anything. If the face moves, if it twitches, if there's a breath or anything.
SPEAKER_07Okay, cool. Make a perception or investigation or perception check for this one, yeah. Um Ilia, you go forward, so you're gonna go to the same, the same body?
SPEAKER_12Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Okay, great. Um, all right. Um and go ahead and make an investigation check. Um, I'm gonna say this is with advantage because you are physically there.
SPEAKER_09I like this. Yeah, I like this for you. This is a good dice. I like this one. Um investigation, you said 19 plus four.
SPEAKER_0719 plus 23.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_07Um as you are searching, uh searching the body, you look around and you don't see anything that is um that is like obviously uh um a messenger bag or anything like that. Um and you begin to you know rifle through pockets and things like that. You start kind of patting down. Um, and your hand, as you're like going down the sides of the body, um you notice a couple of things. Um one, there are um what appear to be, you can see like there are two sort of spots from which most of the blood originates. Um and uh you can see that there are what appear to be like two puncture marks or wounds. Um one is um uh one is like kind of in the in the gut area, uh, another is like very up close um to the neck. Um and you can see that there is a small, what looks like a an entry wound. Um, but it's small. It's not like a big gaping anything. Um with a 23. You've been alongside Phil. You've um probably seen this at some point or another. Um these appear to be uh arrow entry wounds. Um they're yeah, they're it looks like um arrows uh punctured this person's body. Your right hand, as you kind of go down the the body itself, you feel what appears to be like a sort of uh an element that is misshapen along the left side of the body. And as you feel around it, you can feel um what's uh it's a courier's uh a courier's pouch. Yeah. It is but it is underneath the clothing. Um, it appears to be like a very tight-fitting um, you know, satchel or or leather. Well, do you investigate further? Okay. As you go through the clothes, um, do you just cut them? Do you rip them open? How are you doing the this?
SPEAKER_09Uh I have my dagger. I'll I'll like slice them away like a medical professional would to a dead body to make sure that they can identify everything. So I just like go along the seams and start.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Um when you uh when you open it up, uh you see again, yeah, very tight to the body. Um, done with like a leather, a leather strap, um, a pouch, and um it is like sealed. As you go to open it up, you can see that there is indeed um a single letter on the inside. Um, you also find what looks like three silver pieces that are like in there as well. Nice.
SPEAKER_10Silver.
SPEAKER_07Um the letter is sealed um with uh with wax. Um there is no like symbol or anything like that. Um, but protected from the from the elements inside of the leather, you do see a name uh written across the uh the envelope it's addressed to Bavralda. B-A-V-R-A-L-D-A. And you know that that is the person who owns the claim. Um that's Bavralda's claim. Owns what? Owns the claim, the mine. Oh, okay. Shaw, you um you were keeping an eye uh to uh on Ilya to see if there was any movement or anything like that from the corpse. As you look, um, you're keeping a very close eye on her, you see that there is no movement at all from the corpse. Um you do, however, notice as one of the flowers shifts its petals open. Ilya and its roots come up. Beautiful.
SPEAKER_02And I'm gonna like draw my dagger.
SPEAKER_07I'm gonna need everyone else to move.
SPEAKER_11Roll it up.
SPEAKER_07As you see, as some of the purple flowers around you, three of the larger ones, come to life. You you rolled so well, but it literally in their Sablock it says they are indistinguishable from plants if they're gonna be.
SPEAKER_06Alright, I gotta go in here.
SPEAKER_16I didn't roll that good. You know what?
SPEAKER_06Don't beat yourself up.
SPEAKER_16The flowers will do it. Yeah, I'll do that.
SPEAKER_03I still think you're good at this.
SPEAKER_07All right. Uh thanks, man. Cool. Okay. Um so I'm gonna move some people out here. So you are probably right there. Oh, yes, we do.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. Do I have to do anything with this one or roll it? You should be good.
SPEAKER_17Guys, um, I'm gonna sell you right now, none of my spells really work for these. That's okay.
SPEAKER_10We'll take care of it.
SPEAKER_17Yeah, you don't care! My poison, I have a feeling, is not going to do much to these flowers.
SPEAKER_08I have that feeling too. Oh yeah. Yeah. Suckers.
SPEAKER_09It's almost as if the DM knows everything about our kids are dead. Yeah. Knows what would be bad for us.
SPEAKER_05Oh, Mary. Cool.
SPEAKER_17I don't know, you're not going to be able to do that.
SPEAKER_00That's not true.
SPEAKER_17We also I mean I have a torch that I could light him on fire, I guess.
SPEAKER_02Fire probably does do like bigger damage. Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_16I think you've forgotten a point.
SPEAKER_09Um bike Ramsey pulls out glasses, like really cool syn glasses closely.
SPEAKER_08Combat. Alright. Um, sweater out.
SPEAKER_07Uh 23. 23. 23. Alright. Uh 15 to 20. 19. 19, 4, 8.
SPEAKER_17Okay, boys.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, boys. We do this. We would fight. 10 to 15? 12. 12. 12 to 12. Shaw has higher decks, I believe, right?
SPEAKER_02Um, I can check.
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_02Um I have plus three. I have plus two right now.
SPEAKER_06Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_07So uh Phil goes first. So I'm sorry, 13.
SPEAKER_16I shoot a gun, guys. Uh 12?
unknownRight?
SPEAKER_1612, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Okay. And then uh Shaw's 12 and Ilya, what'd you get?
SPEAKER_0911.
SPEAKER_07Oh. That's everybody in. So I have 19 for Vale, 23 for Ramsey, 12 for Shaw and Phil, and 11 for Ilya. Alright. Divending. Boom.
SPEAKER_17Oh no.
SPEAKER_07All right. So you see, you can you guys see them on the map? You see, as right around, like basically to either side of Ilya, you see as two flowers come to life, and then an additional one. You see that their roots are in the blood pools that are at the base, like that are being uh secreted by these two corpses. Um, but uh the first up in initiative is Mr. Ramsey. What are you doing?
SPEAKER_05I will turn to Phil. Are you 100% sure we can't run?
SPEAKER_17Unless you're running towards them.
SPEAKER_05Damn it. And uh I will use my action to dash. Okay, nice. And I I like with surprising alacrity, the the the loot in my bag are like deposited on the ground, and I plume of dust behind me as I as I rush past.
SPEAKER_03And I will Do you do you rush by me to get our our customary fist bump before and as I do, I'm gonna say, let's show them the might of the veil!
SPEAKER_05And I'll give uh a Bardic inspiration to inspiration for Vale.
SPEAKER_07Ramsey action to dash. Uh 40 feet gets you right next to Vale.
SPEAKER_05Oh, is that your speed? Uh my speed is 30 feet.
SPEAKER_07Okay, 30 feet currently. What's your inspiration? Uh D6. So is it D6? Dash will get you right next to Vale, but you will still have 20 feet of movement left. Do you want to go anywhere else? I'm gonna go uh up to Ilya if I can. Okay, five, ten, fifteen gets you right there. Is that good? Yep. Okay, cool. So that is uh so on the way past, you yeah, you give you or Vale, excuse me, uh uh Bardic inspiration. Does that end your turn? Um, yeah, I'll just skid to a halt next to Ilya and I'll just ready up.
SPEAKER_09There's like, oh, hello.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, this guy. I mean, yeah, Ramsey, like you said, with surprising alacrity, comes sprinting through the fields very, very fast. Um, all right, that is gonna end Ramsey's turn and bring us to um Vale. Yeah, uh Bardic Inspiration.
SPEAKER_03As I get the inspiration, I'm going to um take um my four my my index fingers to my temples um and close my eyes in the direction of where Ia is and start focusing and near uh right next to in between you two next to the plant. A from the from the ground, like it's weird because liquid should should follow the gravity, right? It should fall. But it it comes up from the ground and forms this scaffolding that amasses and amasses, and it uh when the final piece touches, it looks just like the plant. Oh wow that is there as I summon plant.
SPEAKER_12Oh! Oh shit, what the heck?
SPEAKER_00Like, what is that? People keep appearing next to me.
SPEAKER_02Does it look like the different colors or is it indistinguishable?
SPEAKER_00Is it distinguished? I'm like, well no.
SPEAKER_03So how would I make it different? Yeah, I I mean it looks very much like that one. It's not the exact same. Okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_09Okay, that's cool. That's really cool.
SPEAKER_03And and uh I'm gonna use the oaken form for that. So it's got some some abilities. Okay. And then um that one is ours.
SPEAKER_07I'm gonna put a little mushroom right net right next to it.
SPEAKER_06It's nice and bright.
SPEAKER_07So that's that's your guy. Um so he'll be right there. Okay. And that's my turn. Does what happen? Does he join initiative order? Does he?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we'll join my on my initiative. Oh, so I guess we'll go right after you.
SPEAKER_06I guess he's a summons.
SPEAKER_03Uh it can what can it do? Destroy plant?
SPEAKER_17Kill everything in front of you.
SPEAKER_03That's right. Plant power. Uh, it's gonna do uh can't do that one. It can do this. Uh it's gonna make a slam attack against the the plant. Get him. Um, yeah, and I I'll direct it. I have to give it a command. Oh. Destroy that plant. Alright, okay. And we're gonna make an attack. Okay. 12. 12 to hit. Beats it, beats it. Yeah! 1d8 plus three. Okay. Uh five. Five? Uh slam. What kind of damage? It is bludgeoning or it's bludgeoning.
unknownExcellent.
SPEAKER_11Okay.
SPEAKER_03Slam it.
SPEAKER_07And uh, how many points was it? Sorry? Five. Alright, what does it look like when this thing slams down on this plant? Uh Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Does it just like it uh it grows it grows to so so this is my interpretation of a plant. Okay. Um so it grows what should be vines, but they're they're more like just like uh branches. Okay. Okay. And it and it picks the pick this thing up and just like slams it in place.
SPEAKER_12I love it. I love it so much. Okay, beautiful.
SPEAKER_07So as it does, it it like it picks it up and it slams it down. Yeah. And as it does so, you see these little pustules all along the thing burst. And I need the plant, Ilya and Ramsey to all make dexterity saving throws for me, please. Figures.
SPEAKER_06Figures.
SPEAKER_07Uh right, what'd you get? Ilya? Natural one. Okay.
SPEAKER_09We need to make a dex. Dex. Yeah, for the plant. Why did you abandon your dice? It's it's okay, and it's a poison, right?
SPEAKER_07Uh ten. Ten. You take two points of acid damage. Wait. What? So he two points. Two points of acid damage.
SPEAKER_03Uh you you got a natural one, two points of acid damage. So as a reaction, my oaken property can absorb damage instead if it's within five feet of an ally. Okay. So are you it'll absorb it'll absorb uh Ramsey's uh two points of acid damage. Okay. So as the slam happens, okay, and then it reaches a pedal out. No, hey, the planet does that.
unknownI love it!
SPEAKER_03Like it catches the acid. And then it withers the the pedal.
SPEAKER_05I just look back and fail.
SPEAKER_07As it withers and dies. But you it absorbs all the damage. Yes. Oh, amazing. Okay, so yeah, you die?
SPEAKER_03So that's No, it doesn't, it just absorbs the two points.
SPEAKER_07It also has to make a dexterity saving throw, so go ahead and make a dexterity.
SPEAKER_03Because it might take some as well. It's got to be. Oh, it's was uh 12. 12.
SPEAKER_09Oh, is that what you send meets it?
SPEAKER_07No, no, no, no, that was that was my deck. That's my deck. Uh you only take it the plant only takes two points. On top of that or it's saved. Okay.
SPEAKER_06It saves.
SPEAKER_07Oh, so alright.
SPEAKER_06You can't outplant me. Yes.
SPEAKER_07Alright. That is gonna be, I mean, that is reaction. I did it all.
SPEAKER_03I did it all.
SPEAKER_07That's amazing. That is gonna end uh Vale's turn and bring us to the Bobus. The Bobus Bino. Yeah, we can check it out. It is going to close the distance between the big move on and they're playing.
SPEAKER_00I knew this was gonna happen.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_16Did it get a crit? I'm the tank guys. I'm the tank or the veggie.
SPEAKER_02It's fine.
SPEAKER_00You don't get to use the regiment.
SPEAKER_07I love the look of this little shit. It did because you both do. Yeah, dude.
SPEAKER_09Alright. Um It's fine, it's fine. Okay. Uh hang on. Hang on.
SPEAKER_05That is amazing.
SPEAKER_09No, I'm I will be fine.
SPEAKER_02You'll be fine.
SPEAKER_09I have I I have faith.
SPEAKER_02The more you say it, the more worried you get, though.
SPEAKER_08No, it's just baby my. You take eight bludgeoning damage.
SPEAKER_09Oh maybe not! Maybe it will be fine.
SPEAKER_03What? Really? And oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_09It's okay. I'll be fine. It's fine.
SPEAKER_03Now if the third plant comes in, I'm six acid damage. Oh, but. Oh, that wasn't it? There was more?
SPEAKER_15I'm not fine.
SPEAKER_16I'm not fine. I'm not fine. No, of course you're not.
SPEAKER_07So you take, yeah, 10% damage. You have to happen. That is going to and as the as the little like moves over towards you. You see as its ten, like its roots, it suddenly like pulls up its roots out of the ground and like almost like these spidery legs, it like walks over towards you. And you see as the uh as one of these tendrils, these pustules, it like lashes out around you, wraps around you, you feel as the pustules burst against your skin. No. Uh you take the damage and you are grappled.
SPEAKER_00No! No!
SPEAKER_15Now I'm not now I'm not okay. No, I'm not okay. Oh no! Alright. Different plants, different plants!
SPEAKER_00I like mushrooms a lot more than though.
SPEAKER_07That is gonna that is gonna end that bulbous files. This one is gonna move over here. This was fun. This is fun.
SPEAKER_10This is great.
SPEAKER_07This one's gonna close the distance uh with you, Ramsey. Okay. And it's gonna tendril attack you. Uh, that is a 12 to hit. Does not hit. Alright. It's gonna miss. Nice. Skitters up over the tree. Surprisingly fast for a rooted plant. Uh it's it'll its same tendril lashes out at you and you're able to nimbly dodge out of the way. I knew we should have fucking run. Bill, it is your turn.
SPEAKER_17Yeah, I'm gonna run 30 feet forward.
SPEAKER_07Alright, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25. 30 gets you right next to Shao. Or you can go like anywhere along that plane, north-south, like that. So if you wanted to be like down here, cool. There you go. Swing down.
SPEAKER_17Um, how far am I from the plant that's at by the closest plant to me?
SPEAKER_07The closest plant to you is it's gonna be the one next to Ramsey. It's 30 feet exactly.
SPEAKER_17Okay. Um, that's fine. Um I'm gonna take my gun and aim.
SPEAKER_06Alright. Um pull out your revolver.
SPEAKER_17Yeah, and as I my revolver's already been out. Like it's been I've been ready for this to happen. Yep, yeah. Um, not necessarily plants, but um I'm gonna twist the raven on my while I'm doing this, I'm gonna twist the raven on my um bracelet and send it on its way to. So simultaneously, it is going to use its 30 feet of movement to go towards to be right up next to um it as well.
SPEAKER_07Uh that gets it right here.
SPEAKER_17Perfect. I am going to aim and fire.
SPEAKER_07Alright, go ahead.
SPEAKER_17I know. Where's that going? That is a uh that is a 15 to hit.
SPEAKER_0715. Through the bulbous spy, like go and roll damage for me. That's a hit.
SPEAKER_17It's a hit. That is a 2d8 plus five.
SPEAKER_07Get him.
SPEAKER_1717 points of damage.
SPEAKER_07Alright, excellent. And that's gonna be the one south of Ramsey, right? 17?
SPEAKER_17Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_07Dang, big hit. What kind of damage does your gun do?
SPEAKER_17It does. Uh piercing damage.
SPEAKER_07Excellent. Some of the pustrals burst ransom.
SPEAKER_06Your steel defender, isn't it? Um, I don't know.
SPEAKER_17Wait, uh one second. Um, it's immune. It is immune to poison. Uh, but this is acid, right? So um, I don't know what I'm uh am I rolling a what save am I rolling?
SPEAKER_07Dexterity save, yep. That's an 18 for me.
SPEAKER_0318, no damage. Does does my does my does dexter, does my plant.
SPEAKER_07Oh yes, it does. I'm sorry, it's well. So yes. 18.
SPEAKER_0318, no damage.
SPEAKER_07Dexter? That's that's good. That's good. What do you have? Uh 11. Take two points of acid damage. Alright. That is going to end uh my turn, but the steel defender goes.
SPEAKER_17Yep, steel defender. It's gonna make a melee attack.
SPEAKER_07Okay, go ahead and rend, I believe.
SPEAKER_17Force uh force empowered attack.
SPEAKER_07It doesn't say rend, but yes, yes. Oh, right, I changed it because you have a different one.
SPEAKER_17Um plus five is fourteen.
SPEAKER_0714. Let's go ahead and roll damage.
SPEAKER_17Kiddle. Uh that is a seven uh seven points of force damage.
SPEAKER_07Seven points of force damage. Awesome. All right, this thing's like starting to it's starting to droop um as it as it attempts to like you see as it's starting to reach towards the puddles of blood to like soak up more as it is uh as it is uh as it appears to be flailing. Um that is gonna end Phil and her steel defender's turn.
SPEAKER_17Yes, is my steel defender five feet from um the middle um plant as well?
SPEAKER_07Uh it's it's ten feet away from the one up north of Ramsey and then five feet away. Oh, the his plant you mean? The middle.
SPEAKER_17No, the middle plant. Oh, that's not the ramp.
SPEAKER_07Oh, it's ten feet away from that. 10 feet away. Can you move it?
SPEAKER_17It can't move anymore.
SPEAKER_07Okay. This one, right? That one? Yeah. No, it's 10 feet away. So, alright. That's gonna end everything for you.
SPEAKER_17That is my turn.
SPEAKER_02Awesome. Shaw brings us to you, sir. Yeah, I mean, I think uh unsheath, unsheathed, and I run up to the one that filled us destroyed a lot. I'm gonna try to finish it off.
SPEAKER_06All right, go ahead. Murder!
SPEAKER_02Yeah, 1520.
SPEAKER_0620 feet gets you right there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm gonna go for it.
SPEAKER_07Do it. Roll some attack.
SPEAKER_02So that's this. That's uh I think that hits that's 17?
SPEAKER_0717. Yes. Um but nope, not that one. Okay. Uh, yeah, you're good.
SPEAKER_02And this is the one that's to the south, I think, right? Yep, it's to the south. Okay, so I'll damage that one. That is a short sword, so that is a d6. Uh that is uh total of six points of damage, which is uh piercing. Okay. So get ready, guys. With sneak attack? Um yeah, I can do sneak attack on the dagger. Okay, doesn't do I have to do it on the dagger? No, it doesn't matter, right? Yeah, it's it's your choice, yeah. Then I'll do it on this, yeah, if it hits. Okay, cool. Um 2d6, right? Yep. Uh you're level 2d6, yeah.
SPEAKER_12Murder!
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's 11 points of damage. For sneak attack, yeah. On top of that.
SPEAKER_07Oh, so 6 plus 11.
SPEAKER_02Plus 11. Okay, 17. 17. Yeah. Yeah, dude. You still cut this. Yeah, honestly, yeah, I'll uh come through and I'll just find that. It's it's a stalk with a big, I'll just cut it at the base so the head falls off.
SPEAKER_07The flowering part of it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Awesome. So yeah, as your dagger or as the short sword comes through. Short sword first. Short sword, yeah. Short sword comes through and you just carve this thing off. You see as a stump of the of the sort of like main vine that holds it up, just like blursts out. Like nasty, accurate, uh purple, gross stuff. Um, I will say, as part of its death, uh everybody's five feet make, uh, do me a favor, make a gun say I'm 13 plus 13. You're good.
SPEAKER_09You're also not within five feet. No, but my biggest.
SPEAKER_0811 again, that's two, right? Or is it more than two?
SPEAKER_07So uh two points of acid damage. Nine. Two points of acid damage, seven. Two points of acid damage, and baby's good?
SPEAKER_17Baby's good. Alright, baby's good.
SPEAKER_07Baby's good. Although you still have a baby. Yeah. Mechanical baby. Alright. So, Shaw, that ends this creature's turn. I hear that. Or sorry, uh, you you die, or that one dies, and then you still have ten feet of movement.
SPEAKER_02Oh, uh, if I can get to the other one in melee, I'll get to that one next to Ramsey. You kinda like. Yeah, you're kind of like kind of move around the steel uh steel predators. What's it called? A steel defender?
SPEAKER_17It's tiny. It's a little bit around. It's a fox, right? It's a raven. It's a raven?
SPEAKER_02It's like this big, isn't it? Yeah, yeah, it's tiny. It's like a little hoger science. I'll kind of duck under it. And uh so yeah, I'll duck under it, spin back, unsheath, and stab, uh, trying to stab into the stalk of this thing so I can whip it open.
SPEAKER_07Alright, go ahead and uh get advantage because I did that.
SPEAKER_02Let me see actually if it has to be on the same creature.
SPEAKER_07Not on the same target, but this target has not gone yet, which according to your subclass means that you do have a.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I have the assassinate thing. Let's go. Let's go! I was so worried, I was like, I'm not gonna get that because I'm so low. Okay, hell yeah. Uh let me bring that up. It's the only one that hasn't crashed. Perfect. I planned that. Okay, so advantage. Rogue strategy. Uh yeah, really fucking good. Uh 24. Yep, that'll hit. Go ahead and roll. So that is. Release me. Yeah, Ilya's grappled by this one. Oh, wait. Um during the first one. Yeah, that's the other one, yeah. Oh, the other one has me? It's the up north one.
SPEAKER_09Oh, golly.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so this does-I won't be able to do the assassinate because it only triggers when I do sneak attack. So I can't do sneak attack again. But yeah, we'll per turn. Okay, but I will do some DMijs, but not a lot though, because it's only my Diacla.
SPEAKER_06It's alright, it all counts.
SPEAKER_02Uh, four points of piercing. I'm assuming a dagger is piercing.
SPEAKER_07Yep, dagger is piercing, and um Ilya and Ramsey and Shaw to all make dexterity saving threats. Hold on one sec.
SPEAKER_02I still have a bonus action. Yeah, yeah. I just want to see if I can do anything with cunning action.
SPEAKER_09I'm so nervous. Okay.
SPEAKER_05So 14. 14? Good.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, deck save, you said? 19.
SPEAKER_16Oh, I would have went down before I even.
SPEAKER_02I took I did seven last time. Did I take four that time instead? I took two.
SPEAKER_07Yep, no, it's four. It's every time. So it's it's a D4 worth of acid damage. Oh, you roll. That's why it was two last time. It was two last time. Okay. I'm rolling. Okay, I just want to make sure. It's a D4. Four than twos this one. You get four damage damage. Ow. Um as the yeah, that sort of like purplish like liquid splashes onto your sticker.
SPEAKER_02Alright. Uh um. I'll look over to Ilya. How's Ilya? You're grappled too, right?
SPEAKER_09I look so bad. You've never seen me look this bad. We saw you always like, well, even so. This is with the guts all over her. Her hair is just disgusting.
SPEAKER_02Alright. No.
SPEAKER_09Good thing I can't see you. You're a little too far above it. Like, oh, golly.
SPEAKER_02Disengage doesn't give you movement, right? It just allows you to not take off attacks, right? Yeah. Yeah. So I can't hide. I can dash. Dashing over there doesn't do anything. I can break, I can get the reaction for you guys. Um, no, that'll be my turn. I'll just kind of square up next to Ramsay. Okay. That ends Shaw's turn and brings us to Ilya.
SPEAKER_07Ilya. At the start of your turn, you feel the acid from the grappled tendril around you. Fuck.
SPEAKER_10Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_12Oh no!
SPEAKER_08Yeah. No!
SPEAKER_09Ilya!
SPEAKER_08Have I has my turn come back? You're coming soon.
SPEAKER_09The light from my eyes. Just like, God fucking damn it, plant. Especially I was the one that was like, if any plant is pretty, it's probably gonna kill you. It's like echoes in my mind as I slowly just fall unconscious. And I, yeah, I'll see this. Ilia!
SPEAKER_07As the damage happens at the start of your turn, you immediately take your turn. Take your turn. Oh shit. Oh fuck. And thus you have to make a death saving throw. So here's what I would like to say as, and this is optional, you don't have to. But as your eyes close, as the pain drops you into unconsciousness, is there anything that Ilya sees? Anything that she thinks of? Any memory that uh comes to her? For anyone joining us for the first time, this is what we call our flashback rule. When a character goes down, at their discretion, they can share a memory if they'd so like.
SPEAKER_09I see a vision. Black rock minor.
SPEAKER_07I like you to roll the role for me. If it's good. And if it's a 2010, if it's a ten. Thank you very much. Okay. Ilya. Uh and your turn. You remain grappled. Okay. The Okay. The uh bobus violet that is up here is going to it's just yeah, it's just gonna shoot for uh for you, Ramsay, or the target in front of it.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_07Nine to hit.
SPEAKER_04Doesn't hit.
SPEAKER_07Alright. That misses and brings us to your turn.
SPEAKER_05Shit! Keep it up, Ramsay! Uh, I'm just gonna, as I like juke that swing, I'm just gonna like duck low, and it almost looks like my shoulder very close to like dislocating the way I like steep down and then come up with a uh a melee strike at this. I'm gonna hit the one in front of me. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Natural one, dude.
SPEAKER_00No, I'm sorry. It's spreading.
SPEAKER_05And then I'm gonna use my bonus action swing again. As I assume it just kind of like scrapes along the the like puff of the bottom.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, the kind of the the you hit one of the petals, but it like folds and your fish just like goes past.
SPEAKER_01How the hell did you punch a flower? Go ahead and roll it. Swing again.
SPEAKER_05Much better. Uh uh that is a uh fucking 24 to hit. 24, that'll hit. Yeah. Um uh seven points of uh bludgeoning damage. Seven points of bludgeoning damage.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_05As this time the like um the my fingerless gloves that I'm wearing kind of you see like a trace of light outline as I'm charging them to do the force damage on it.
SPEAKER_07Nice lights up as you make contact with the flower.
SPEAKER_10Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_07Hustruls burst. Need everybody within five feet of the flower to make a dexterity saving throw. Ilya, you automatically fail. I knew it, I knew it. Shit, shit, shit, shit. You take. We will. I'm gonna see what everybody else does. Shit. Do take damage, and you automatically. I didn't think about that, I'm so sorry. It's okay. Uh he's I think he's next. Rams or Veil is on deck.
SPEAKER_02Um, deck save, go ahead.
SPEAKER_07Deck save. Everybody within five feet. I'm I go after the next plant. 17, you're fine. One. Uh you take one point of acid damage. Okay. 21, no damage. Alright. Uh, that is bonus action in action for Ramsey. That is. That ends your turn and brings us to Veil. Fuck.
SPEAKER_08All good.
SPEAKER_03Um shit. No, you're good. You're good. He's up, he's up, he's up. He can do it. He can do it.
SPEAKER_15So, so fucking far.
SPEAKER_02No, he's got it.
SPEAKER_03Ramsey. Is she down?
SPEAKER_09Dude, what does he look like?
SPEAKER_03Dodging out of the way.
SPEAKER_09I'm faking.
SPEAKER_03If I play dead, maybe you're gonna leave me alone.
SPEAKER_09Yeah.
SPEAKER_03The constellations on my chest will uh some of the modes of light will flare and actually um come out from my skin. And I will pick two of them and fling them towards Alia.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_03And cast healing word.
SPEAKER_08Okay. Yes. Go and roll to heal for me, please. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03It's uh 2d4. Nice. Plus three. Five uh eight. Eight points of healing. Stuff right there. As they and as they land, uh as they land on you, um, they actually kind of spin together, and then they land on you, and they kind of coat you with um It's kind of like a flame. Um, and as it's spreading out, it's a flame, and then it's water, and then it's nothing. And you're healing.
SPEAKER_09Eight points.
SPEAKER_08Eight points of healing back to Ilian. Very cool. We got you, baby. Oh my gosh. As a bonus action. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, that's your bonus action, right?
SPEAKER_03Uh action to healing work. Oh, that was great.
SPEAKER_09That's a great bonus action.
SPEAKER_03That was a bonus action. Um, that's okay, that's good that I that was a bonus action, I forgot. So I'm going to then and I'm gonna raise my hand, and um some of the motes are gonna roll down my forearm, and one is going to lift itself up. I'm gonna flick it at the plant and cast uh guiding bolt. Nice. Jeez, okay uh at the little guy.
SPEAKER_07Can you do that?
SPEAKER_05Because you did healing word. I'm sorry, yeah. We are Oh really?
SPEAKER_06No, it's still a spell.
SPEAKER_07Because it's a level spell. It's still a spell. Even with the ability. A number of times, but it's still a spelling spell. Oh something like that. So Star Druid gets a certain number of guiding bolts per it is still consistent casting. Okay. I appreciate that. Thank you. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03So instead of that, take that back.
SPEAKER_07You can do a cantra. Yeah, of course.
SPEAKER_09Um I can just You can run in and then physically beat him with quickly.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but then you're taking damage.
SPEAKER_07Um characters. I like I know we're all these are all pretty new. Okay. So if you like, what we could do is swap. Um do you have an action healing spell?
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_05If you have cure wounds, no. You have to be within melee on that.
SPEAKER_07You would have to close the distance. Yeah. I'm gonna be a little more lenient for the first couple sessions because I think we're all picking it out.
SPEAKER_05But um So can we go back to where we were approaching the flowers?
SPEAKER_02I'd like to go back to the bar, actually.
SPEAKER_05Can we just redo that?
SPEAKER_03We got the letter, so I'm gonna that'll be you still have Shillalia.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I do.
SPEAKER_07Which you can't and you can't really nice stick. 25 feet will get you next to the thing, and I believe the Shillaly does not do bludgeoning. It's or piercing. Or piercing. You guys know that those two so far trigger this ability.
SPEAKER_17What does Shilleley do?
SPEAKER_03It does.
SPEAKER_17Force did not cost.
SPEAKER_03Force did not. Oh, nice. It says bo. It can do bludgeoning or force. I don't know why how you choose. You just choose. I'm gonna do it, man. Oh, I'm a freaking geth. I I can just do it how I want.
SPEAKER_12That's what I do. I can just do it how I want.
SPEAKER_10This game is called I Do What I Want.
SPEAKER_03You know what? Yeah, just uh That's what the D stands for. Snarl and frustration. I'm gonna run up there and smack the shit out of you.
SPEAKER_17Yeah, run around for sure, really. Which one?
SPEAKER_03Uh oh jeez. Uh I didn't hit anything, but we tried.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, I'll see him run up like wait, wait, wait! Never mind.
SPEAKER_03Uh total would be uh seven. You have Bardic Inspiration.
SPEAKER_12No!
SPEAKER_03Oh that is true. Do it. It's a D6.
SPEAKER_02Wait, wait. It's a D6?
SPEAKER_17Um, eleven, twelve, thirteen. You need a five or a six.
SPEAKER_02Can I can I stop him? I don't know if I can can I use a reaction to hold him.
SPEAKER_17Why do you want to do that?
SPEAKER_02Because she's force damage.
SPEAKER_17It's not gonna trigger.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. As far as you know, well, you can't you can't stop him. Okay. You can warn him. You can't. Yeah, I mean, I said wait. I said wait. You can say something.
SPEAKER_02I was like, wait, wait, wait. And I did that. I don't like that.
SPEAKER_00I'll leave it out. We had a five or a six. Oh fair, yeah. I have three key to memories. Let's not burn through them all today, okay?
SPEAKER_06Oh, so close. Unfortunately. The turn that almost was.
SPEAKER_05Hey, you got her out.
SPEAKER_07This amorphous sort of root system just bends with the force and then like retracks. And unfortunately, the attack misses.
SPEAKER_03And then my plant goes. Then Dexter goes. Yes. Uh would you are we in sunlight? I don't think we are, but are we in sunlight?
SPEAKER_07Uh not direct sunlight.
SPEAKER_03Okay. So uh then my little guy's gonna slam this plant.
SPEAKER_07Slam it! Slam it! Slam it! Slam! I had a roll for an attack. Slam.
SPEAKER_03Would you could I it doesn't really say. I can definitely do attacks and have a reaction. Could I try and ungrapple? Yeah. I'd say plant you to your dexterity. I'm gonna I'm gonna as I swing and miss. Grab her. Take her to safety.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Hell yeah. Go ahead and this is gonna be a contested athletics check for between the two plants.
SPEAKER_03Okay, that's a good roll. That's a good roll. What do you have?
SPEAKER_07What'd you get?
SPEAKER_03Um 14 and then I it's strength. Yep. Athletics. Athletics. Not that probably just. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it only has its own. It has its own stat block, yeah. That's how we do it.
SPEAKER_0317 is amazing.
SPEAKER_0717? That's huge, actually. Only shit.
SPEAKER_0314.
unknownYeah!
SPEAKER_12Fuck it!
SPEAKER_16Alright.
SPEAKER_03Uh and this this plant is considered a large creature. So it's Oh, is it? Yeah. Oh.
SPEAKER_17It's a big thing.
SPEAKER_03Because the oak oakens are large. Okay. Alright. It's a beefy. You know, you see a little bicep.
unknownAlright.
SPEAKER_07So the tendrils of your plant dexter, like, reach forward and like just like roots do when they're like breaking through concrete or brick or mortar. It like reaches between the gaps of this plant and it's how it's wrapped around her, and it forces the separation as it pulls her out. Um you have used the Dexter uses his action to break the grapple, and then you can uh whatever his movement speed is, because he's large, he's not at half speed when pulling uh you can move for two, so get around. Unless you choose to fight it. No.
SPEAKER_03He's got 30 feet. Okay. So I'm gonna move him.
SPEAKER_00This plant is like honor.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna move have it move Iliad backwards, like away from both plants. Like backwards, backwards, south, uh, southwest. 20 feet gets you right there.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, cool to help.
SPEAKER_09Uh that's real cool.
SPEAKER_07Awesome. And that's Dexter Dexter's action. Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Do you like plants again? I love plants. Plants are my buddy.
SPEAKER_07That is going to end Vale and Dexter's turn. Yes. Alright, brings us to the other bulbers. No, fuck. So it's going to close the distance. No. He's gonna reach, or he's gonna try to hit Rams.
SPEAKER_12You got this. Okay.
SPEAKER_07Come on. Uh, that is going to be a 17 to hit. That is a bomber, dude.
SPEAKER_17It didn't get a natural 20, though. That's what how it did so much damage on.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it it's how it was a crit. It was a crit. Okay. Okay. You take five points of bludgeon damage. Fuck. And four points of acid damage. That still hurts. Not good. And you are grappled. Okay. Oh, double no. Alright. Dexter goes in. Double. That is going to end. Yeah, as the as the tendril. And you feel the as the enzymes of this creature's acid begin to catch again. Alright. Phil brings us to you.
SPEAKER_17Yeah. Um, uh I'm gonna run up.
SPEAKER_07Okay, you run up. Five, ten, fifteen, twenty. Twenty-five gets you right there. Um you could also be up one, like you could be there if you want.
SPEAKER_17Yeah, and I'm well no, I'm gonna go- I need to touch it. I need to touch my raven. Gotcha. So I grab my raven and I like smash it onto Ramsey where I can see. Um and I cast healing word. Okay, okay. Also as a bonus action.
SPEAKER_06Oh, cool. All right.
SPEAKER_17Um, so that is what two D four um two D four plus four. That's gone. Also eight points of healing for you, Ramsay. And then get my and then aim my gun at the um dingy.
SPEAKER_07Alright, I'm gonna have you go here because you you would know that if you're within five feet, yeah, you're gonna advantage. And because your creature is tiny, you can occupy the same space.
SPEAKER_17So it's also in Ramsey's space, technically. Okay, cool.
SPEAKER_07That's fair, yeah. So bam, there's there's uh he's on top of you, Ramsay. The Raven is on top of you. Alright. Uh it's helping, but I'm uncomfortable about it. Which one are you shooting? The one next to the one uh to the north or the one uh to the left of Ramsey?
SPEAKER_17Uh the one that's grappling Ramsey. I think I missed though. Uh 11, yeah. So I miss with my thing, but my um little baby is gonna also attack.
SPEAKER_12Okay. Yeah. Nice.
SPEAKER_07Alright, alright.
SPEAKER_17Because that's not its healing. It was my healing.
SPEAKER_07The one that is grappling Ramsey is the one to the left of him.
SPEAKER_17Yes. That's the one I made.
SPEAKER_07Yep, cool.
SPEAKER_17Okay, so that's um gonna be a four.
SPEAKER_03Nice.
SPEAKER_17Yeah, that hits 19 plus five. Um, and that does uh seven points of um force damage.
SPEAKER_07Force once again, as your as your uh steel predator raven like goes in and does its uh its attack on this creature, you notice that the pustules do not burst um when this creature, uh, when your raven makes contact. That is your turn end, Ravens. Alright, Shaw brings us to you, and then Ilya, you're on deck. I only have piercing weapons.
SPEAKER_02So I'm gonna go in and attack it. Yeah, yeah. I got a little bit more healing, so he's not so close to the I'm gonna hit the one uh that I was hitting, the one that's North of Ramsey. Alright, cool. Because that's the one I can reach.
SPEAKER_07Roll for an attack for me.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I will also, I think I can do this. Let me look double check really quick. Because I'm gonna stand still. I would like to um okay, so I have my weapons out. I kind of like uh you see my feet kind of like push into the dirt a little bit more and kind of get more of a steady stance and like solid form. And I'll go in for an attack. I'll use steady aim to get advantage. Alright. Awesome.
SPEAKER_07You go ahead and give yourself advantage. I cannot move from that spot for the remainder of the turn, but big ten.
SPEAKER_02That's better. That's right. I need to roll them separately though. That's what I do normally. Yeah. That's why I roll fire. Must be. Must be that.
SPEAKER_07Um, eleven. Eleven to hit. Yeah. At advantage? At advantage. Unfortunately, miss.
SPEAKER_16No, we're all rolling eleven. God.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Once again, the knife like nicks one of the roots, but does not make purchase. You're not able to like get the body in here.
SPEAKER_17Oh, wait, I'm so sorry.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_17I have to take a bonus action to command my defender. I've already commanded it, but I don't know if it continues to take actions.
SPEAKER_08I see, yeah.
SPEAKER_17Um, it can move and take its reaction on it. But the only action it takes is the dodge, so it can't have done the force. I'm gonna give it a chance.
SPEAKER_05Thank you. I appreciate it. Good, good, good looking. Sorry.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, good looking.
SPEAKER_17No, I just realized that as I was doing it. I was like, I wonder how the bonus action works for my rules is messing with this this round.
SPEAKER_12Alright.
SPEAKER_07So unfortunately, yeah. That first strike. New character sheets. Uh Shaw, you do have a secondary attack.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm ready. Um okay, I don't get advantage on this one because I made a new addition. Let me double check.
SPEAKER_11Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02You hit a creature with your yeah, I didn't hit it, so I don't get the advantage from Vex. So I'm just going to straight roll. Nice. That's better. Uh uh 21.
SPEAKER_0721 hits, and just does trigger sneak at the same time. Because I don't have advantage, but I'm next to people that are there.
SPEAKER_02So two plus three is five plus come on. Five plus eight. Yeah, that's up. 20. 13. 13. Okay, cool. 13 points of damage on the dagger as I kind of stab into the stock and I can't again try and rip it open to kind of like rip the stock off.
SPEAKER_07Awesome. Yeah, as you go in for this thing, once again, you can see that its roots are starting to, and it's like its roots kind of reach back towards the blood, but I need Veil, the uh the Predator, Ramsey, and Shaw to all make dexterity. 17.
SPEAKER_05You've got this guy's grapple doesn't affect dex saves, right? Nope. Movement's apparently a good role. Uh Veil?
SPEAKER_03Uh 22.
SPEAKER_02Good. 18.
SPEAKER_08Good.
SPEAKER_07Eight. Two points of acid damage to you. Um, Shaw, that's action, bonus action.
SPEAKER_02Action. Uh I'm I have my bonus action still, but. No, steady aim. Oh uh no, I don't think it says does it say?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it's a bonus action. I believe.
SPEAKER_02Um yeah, it says bonus action at the top. That's why I didn't see it. Okay, thank you. Then yeah, that's my turn. I'm not gonna move. I can't move, so that's my turn.
SPEAKER_08Alright. Ilya.
SPEAKER_00It is your turn.
SPEAKER_07Dexter's large, so he gently sets you down on your feet. And there's and there's like a small bow. The little petals fold.
SPEAKER_09I also bow. Thank you.
SPEAKER_03It bows.
SPEAKER_09I love it so much.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Um, cool. Yeah, I'm gonna do uh bonus action innate sorcery.
SPEAKER_11Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_09So my eyes close, and as they open, there's a flash um essentially inside of them that has a similar lattice work behind them that's there for a second as it goes away. And I remember that vision that I had, and I close my hands and I pull them apart, and the lattice forms between my fingers, and there's a moat that's slowly growing into this orb of oo and lattice, and and it's it's it feels sticky, but it's not as it's growing. And um instead of like the light filament, it starts glowing this hot, like molten glass as it forms into a ball, and I cast chromatic ore. Yeah, and it literally just hurls like almost just a uh like a magnetic force just out of my hands. The the one next to Ramsay's left, right in front of me.
SPEAKER_02That's the one that's grappling him, right? Yeah, that is the one that's grappling.
SPEAKER_06Take advantage on that role. Yeah, that was the one.
SPEAKER_09My innate sorcery gives me that. That was a great okay. So uh 14 plus six is twenty. Great, great, great. And then we'll do the three d8. Okay. So uh seven, four, uh, eleven. And three is fourteen, thank you. Math is hard.
SPEAKER_07And then what kind of damage is it?
SPEAKER_09Uh fire.
SPEAKER_07Fire damage. No way. All right. Mm-hmm. Awesome. As the chromatic orb slams into this creature, you don't hear anything, but you see as it withers and wilts, it is vulnerable to fire. Yeah! So what does that mean? Double damage. Yes! That immediately this thing goes from barely actually not basically fine, yeah. To suddenly like wilting and burning as like petals are falling off and the roots are are uh are like cauterizing. Um, that's awesome. That's awesome.
SPEAKER_09And I'm just like That's great.
SPEAKER_07Alright, okay.
SPEAKER_09I'm so pissed by it.
SPEAKER_06I like plans, but not that one. Alright.
SPEAKER_09I didn't roll. No, I didn't. Okay. I was like, if I roll the same D8, then I get it.
SPEAKER_06I was I was like seven or four and a three.
SPEAKER_09Wait, did I get it?
SPEAKER_07So cool. Yeah.
SPEAKER_09So that's that's it.
SPEAKER_07Alright. Um that brings us to the bulbous pilot.
SPEAKER_17Does it which one? Which one?
SPEAKER_07Uh the one to the uh the north of Rams. Does it do the um plus jewel thing?
SPEAKER_02Okay, good.
SPEAKER_07Fire.
SPEAKER_06Who's it attacking?
SPEAKER_07It's gonna attack Veil.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you're right next to it, yeah.
SPEAKER_0719 to hit? Oh. That'll do. Yeah. You suffer five points of bludgeoning damage. Yeah, I can't and one point of acid damage, and you are grappled. Okay. That's okay. We're gonna keep it. Alright. I was going to oh go ahead.
SPEAKER_03It was a fine. We'll keep it. Nope, we're good. I'm not gonna do it.
SPEAKER_10Okay.
SPEAKER_03Oh, you have something you might have to do.
SPEAKER_10Start of your turn right now.
SPEAKER_07So it was five.
SPEAKER_02Six total.
SPEAKER_07You take two points of acid damage. Okay. But it is your turn. Okay.
SPEAKER_05You got that.
SPEAKER_07Oh, because of the grapple?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_05I'm I'm gonna do this as force damage, but just for flavor. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I wanna like kind of like, because I'm being grappled by it, I want to just headbutt the fight. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07It's like weird violet headbutt. What you see is the the center of the flower like opens up, and you don't see teeth, but instead you see like very rigid looking, like spine moves. And you see this like strange, vibrant green gullet as it like attempts to like bite onto you.
SPEAKER_05And you feel like Yeah, it's sort of like uh the my lungs light up in the same way, but like the energy is like channeled through my body to just like go ahead and uh go ahead and make your attack, bro. Oh close. Uh that is uh 26 to hit go ahead and roll damage for me. And you're doing the one that's grappling you, right? Yes, awesome. Okay, yeah. Uh that is uh nine points of uh force damage. Nice. Alright, as you fucking headbutt this thing to death.
SPEAKER_10So it's like opening its belt. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05So like I like to the I mean so the um as it's like kind of like pulling at me to like make me more vulnerable to being chowed down on, I'm gonna like use that like tension from the uh from the various vines to like just throw my whole body weight into it and like burst out of the other side.
SPEAKER_00It's like reverse alien. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07So as you like throw your head forward, you literally like you see as the back of the creature like bull like bulges outward and your head and shoulders rip through the side of it, dies on you, and then you just like roll out of it with this the very good job, Ramsey!
SPEAKER_05Fucking hell! Alright! And then I'm gonna take my opponent's action and swing on them. Yeah! Go ahead. You attack. Um, not as good. Uh, that is um oh damn, that's 11 to hit. No!
SPEAKER_09You got the one. You got him, you got him.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, as as you go as you roll to to swing around to punch this one, it's the same thing. Like the roots just kind of shift out of the way. Alright, that is a hell of a turn. Yeah, I'm gonna go.
SPEAKER_03You got this, man. Finish it up.
SPEAKER_17Um start of his turn.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna grappled. I am grappled. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Three points of acid damage. Thank you. Appreciate it. Three.
SPEAKER_17Three, okay.
SPEAKER_07Three, three points of acid damage.
SPEAKER_03Stoopy. I'm nervous. Um, I'm gonna hit this thing. There you are. Yes. Uh I'm angry. Uh I uh I look down at Ramsey, I look at you. About time you stop dancing with it.
SPEAKER_01And and I just looked my call!
SPEAKER_03I look at mine and it's which you would know is uh something akin to like die creature. And I'm gonna see if we can oh yeah, that's gonna do. Yeah, that's 17.
SPEAKER_11And then that'll do that, what you said.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That'll that'll do nicely. And then another Shilleley. That's a Shilleley, yeah. What's the damage? Uh we're gonna do force, one D eight.
SPEAKER_04Chilely is fucking goaded. It is great. One D.
SPEAKER_08That's a total of six. Six points of damage? Force.
SPEAKER_06How do you want to do this?
SPEAKER_00Yep. Nice, nice, nice poise, yes.
SPEAKER_03So you just swung in mouse and I said that I I'm uh yeah, just this alder, this nice wood. Uh nice wood. Two-handed overhead, I'm going to um split this plant in half.
SPEAKER_07In twins. And as the elders, the alder staff uh flacking off with the magical energy of your shilleley makes contact with the flower and peels it in half. Uh you see as the pustules do not burst thanks to the force damage by your shelele, and the last of your combatants falls to the ground dead. I won't pick up there next time.
SPEAKER_00What's in the ladder?
SPEAKER_07All right, thank you guys. We hope you enjoyed watching as much as we did playing. We'll catch you next time. Bye, nerds.
SPEAKER_05Hey nerds, it's Shane. Thanks for being here. Just wanted to remind you real quick that we are still doing that Cantrip Candles contest. So please do check out our Patreon and leave a funny comment, uh, a funny caption, a silly idea for what could be happening in the the the what would you even call it? It's not a triptych, it's uh a tableau uh from uh one of our episodes. And uh please do uh please do like everybody else's comments that you think are funny because we're gonna use that to isolate, to narrow down uh the options we're gonna choose from when we do finally choose a winner for that bundle of cool candles. And uh there's like a booklet of a module of like a small adventure in there. It's honestly it's really spectacular. It's just sitting there on my desk over there, and like I don't know, if if we don't get it out of here soon, I think I might just open all of it up. So uh please do get in there, leave a comment, and uh like anybody else's you like. If you're not a Patreon member, it is totally fine. You can you all you have to have is a Patreon account, which you can just use your Gmail. Uh so log in there and you can very easily uh join in the the silliness, the goofiness, the frivolity of uh this little experiment we're doing. Otherwise, if you have the means, please do support us as a YouTube member, Patreon member, or a Twitch subscriber, or all of the above, as many of you lovely people do, uh which always blows me away. Thank you so much for that. And we'll see you in the next one, nerds.
